Blog QR codes

What is a QR code?

A scannable pattern that opens a URL - on no-referer, it points at the same /r/ path as your short link.

A QR code is a two-dimensional barcode cameras can read. For marketing and packaging, it usually encodes a URL so a phone can open a page without typing.

On no-referer every short link can download a PNG or SVG QR for the same /r/{code}. Print it, drop it into a deck, or put it on packaging.

One short path powers both the typed link and the scan.

Create and download

Shorten on the homepage, then download QR from the success panel. Signed-in links keep downloads available from My URLs.

A common scene

A menu QR and a spoken short link should open the same page. Download PNG for print and SVG for a slide - both point at the same /r/{code}.

Tips

Test a scan in good light before a print run. If the landing page may move, keep the QR on /r/{code} and edit the destination later while signed in.

Watch out for

  • Do not treat the QR as a separate tracking product - it uses the same clean redirect.
  • Guest creates still get a QR at create time; signed-in links keep downloads in My URLs.
